Summer’s End

We hit the ground running after a few weeks of travel. Jon and I enjoyed our annual trip to Seattle and Ketchikan. The weather was so beautiful, cool, and fresh and sunny. It was hard to leave on a glorious Pacific Northwest summer day. I added some photos of our last moments there and the fun little ferry trip to Ketchikan International Airport.

We had several installations recently, including beautiful sheer draperies to flank a fireplace in West U.  We also designed and made this custom bench for the client’s two young daughters who could not wait to sit in front of the window with their kitty and favorite book.  We add some lovely drapery panels to frame a living room window in Bellaire as well. We also did lots of accessory work, which is always such fun.  Clients love discovering the new accessories that we tuck into spots here and there to help make their homes unique.

Our historic renovation downtown is coming along nicely and getting more exciting every day. We have uncovered treasures galore in the demo phase and have some really cool relics and photos that we will be able to showcase later as art in the building. The owner also came up with a brilliant idea that has turned into an exciting art project for the whole team. We have hired my friend and colleague, Michael Stencel, who has worked with me for years. We can’t wait to sink our teeth into this project and create a really unique piece for the client.

Michael is a graphic artist and photographer, but really a Renaissance guy. He is very talented and handy, too, so he was the perfect person to use for this project. He has recently branched out into furniture design and welding projects. Check out his great work. http://www.mmcraftsmen.com/

We are excited to have a new client who is moving from San Francisco to a Galleria-area high rise. We will have a wonderful home ready to welcome him to Houston. I added a few before shots of his space. High rise projects are such fun!

Historic buildings, high rises, and cool art always inspire me. Until next time, find your own inspiration or call us and we’ll help you discover it.
